No, not those games, of which I am already heartily sick, but the games entitled ‘Getting one’s First Book Published’. Having just celebrated sending the files off to the publisher with a bottle of Bollinger (feel free to sponsor me), I now have to sort out permissions, images, maps, my cover photo and finally at a later date, an index. All this makes slamming an e-book out look pretty simple. Still, at least I have the comfort of knowing that should all my hard work make it into print, I will at least have multiple uses for it, such as propping open the door or throwing at a recalcitrant teenager, many years ahead.
Follow me as I endure the agonies of traditional publishing. Who knows, this could become an historical document in itself?
